All-Ireland club senior football semi-finals postponed due to weather

Both semi-finals to be played on Saturday, January 11th

The All-Ireland club senior football championship semi-finals which had been due to be played on Sunday have both been postponed due to weather.

The GAA confirmed that following a pitch inspection at Breffni Park on Saturday evening, Sunday’s semi-final between Dublin champions Cuala and Sligo’s Coolera-Strandhill will not go ahead.

Earlier on Saturday the association confirmed the second semi-final, between Kerry’s Dr Crokes and Errigal Ciaran of Tyrone, would not take place after an inspection of the pitch at O’Moore Park on Saturday morning.

Both semi-finals have been rescheduled to Saturday, January 11th, remaining at their original venues. The GAA’s Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) on Monday will confirm throw-in times for the two games.

Despite freezing temperatures overnight, Saturday’s All-Ireland club intermediate football semi-finals proceeded as planned.

Derry champions Ballinderry beat Kerry’s Austin Stacks 0-11 to 0-7 at Parnell Park while Mayo’s Crossmolina Deel Rovers took a 1-12 to 0-6 win over Caragh of Kildare.
