Connacht League/ Galway 0-13 Sligo 0-10:Galway's sparkling first-half performance paved the way for a deserved three-point win at Kilcoyne Park, Tubbercurry.
Sligo's Mark Breheny opened the scoring, but the Tribesmen never looked back after Paul Geraghty opened their account on six minutes.
Galway raced into a 0-7 to 0-1 lead, but Sligo rallied towards the end of the half to leave the score 0-8 to 0-4.
After the break, Joe Bergin and Paul Gately put more daylight between the sides before a spirited, but ultimately futile, Sligo fightback.

• GMIT v Leitrim- Leitrim yesterday refused to fulfil their scheduled game in the Connacht League when the venue for the tie was switched to a pitch with no markings.
Their clash with the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology was originally fixed for Pearse Stadium, but was switched to Castlegar. The tie was then moved to Mervue GAA grounds. Match officials and GMIT were prepared to play the tie, even though the pitch wasn't lined, but Leitrim refused to take part.
• Sligo IT 1-7 Roscommon 0-8- A goal from a 42nd-minute penalty by Sligo IT substitute Michael Doherty proved decisive for the students in a game played in dreadful weather conditions at Elphin.
