The 2027 Ryder Cup will take place from September 17th to 19th at Adare Manor, it has been announced.
Build-up to the centenary edition of the biennial team tournament between the United States and Europe will begin on Monday, September 13th, in an event that is expected to make hundreds of millions for the Irish economy.
With a mid-September date selected, the 2027 Ryder Cup is two weeks earlier than the last European Ryder Cup in Italy, increasing the chance of favourable weather in Limerick. The 2010 Ryder Cup in Celtic Manor began on October 1st and organisers struggled with torrential rain and cool conditions.
With the Irish Open moving to early September in recent years, and already set to be hosted at a similar style parkland at the K Club in 2027, it could also benefit as a tune-up for the tournament for golf’s biggest stars.
Details of how to apply for tickets to the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor will be announced in 2026, but fans can register their interest already on the Ryder Cup website.
“Rory McIlroy’s victory in the Masters last month to complete the career Grand Slam, combined with anticipation of July’s Open Championship, has already heightened the buzz around golf on the island of Ireland,” Guy Kinnings, chief executive of the European Tour Group, said.
“Hosting a Ryder Cup is a huge collective effort and our thanks therefore go to the Government of Ireland, to JP McManus and the team at Adare Manor and to Limerick City and County Council for their continued support.”
The JP McManus-owned course was extensively renovated in 2017, designed by Tom Fazio. In 2022, it hosted the JP McManus Pro-Am, which saw the likes of Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler compete for charitable causes.
“For Ryder Cup week, the eyes of the sporting world will be on the beautiful village of Adare, and I am confident that the local community and the people of Limerick and Ireland generally, will ensure that this event is a wonderful success,” Minister for Sport Patrick O’Donovan said.

How can the provinces break France’s dominance?
The Ryder Cup was last held in Ireland in 2006 at the K Club and was estimated to be worth €143 million to the economy. Europe beat United States by 18.5 to 9.5, with three Irish players on the European team - Darren Clarke, Pádraig Harrington and Paul McGinley.
Meanwhile, the PGA Tour has decided to alter the format for the season-ending Tour Championship, removing the staggered scoring start and promising to create a tougher set-up for East Lake.
The previous “starting strokes” format was introduced in 2019 and rewarded the FedEx Cup points leader by allowing him to start the Tour Championship at 10 under, with other players starting a few strokes behind, depending on their position. The player in second place would begin the tournament at eight under and so on.
Now, all 30 players who qualify for the Tour Championship via the FedEx Cup playoffs will start on even footing with the same chance of winning the FedEx Cup, which last year came with a $25 million bonus.
The tour’s announcement also said the field will remain at 30 players for 2025, but the PAC is “studying the qualification system” for future years to make sure it is the hardest tournament for players to qualify for.
