Americans Nelly Korda and Lizette Salas shared a commanding five-shot lead after the third round of the KPMG Women's PGA Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club on Saturday.

Korda, a one-shot leader over Salas after a tournament record-equalling nine-under par 63 in the second round, couldn’t quite match that feat on Saturday but did turn in a bogey-free round of four-under 68.

Salas was on fire early on. She made six birdies in her first eight holes – including her first three – but couldn’t add a seventh while conceding a single bogey at the 10th en route to a 67.

This put her level with Korda on 15 under, well clear of a trio of players on 10 under – Thailand's Patty Tavatanakit (65), Italy's Guilia Molinaro (66) and France's Celine Boutier (69).
