An all-round sports fan, Lowry is looking forward to his first Olympics after missing Rio due to the Zica virus. Strongly linked to the GAA and particularly Offaly football, his father Brendan won an All-Ireland senior football championship medal in 1982. Supremely talented, his breakthrough came when he won the Irish Open as an amateur on the links in Baltray with the highlight of his career the 2019 British Open at Portrush.
