Uggh. Spare a thought for the players at cash-strapped Portsmouth who, last week, were told they would have to wash their own jockstraps, rather than be given new ones every week. "We have to explore every possible way of saving money, but this is an unusual route," conceded manager Alan Ball, who revealed the cost-cutting measure would save the club £112 a week.
