CRICKET: The Irish Cricket Union have completed the signing of South African fast bowler Mornantau (Nantie) Hayward.

CRICKET:The Irish Cricket Union have completed the signing of South African fast bowler Mornantau (Nantie) Hayward.

The 30-year-old has played in 16 Tests for South Africa and in that time has taken 54 wickets at an average of 29.79, with a best bowling performance of 5-56.

In addition, he has also taken part in 21 ODIs, taking 21 wickets at an average of just over 40. He has played domestic cricket in England with both Middlesex and Worcestershire, and toured Britain and Ireland with South Africa in 1998.

He played against Ireland at Downpatrick on that trip, and claimed the wicket of Ireland opening batsman Kyle McCallan, who will be his team-mate for the two games at the weekend against Somerset and Hampshire.
