SHANE BRODERICK continues to be seriously ill in Dublin's Mater Hospital after his condition was described yesterday as being "unchanged" by the Turf Club medical officer, Dr Walter Halley.

Broderick spent his fourth night in the Mater last night and Halley added: "Clearly it's a very traumatic time for all concerned but, with something like this, it has to be taken a day at a time.

Broderick has serious neck and spinal injuries after his fall from Another Deadly at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday. His medical team are waiting for the heavy swelling around his neck and spinal cord to ease before determining the full nature of his injuries.
