Munster MFC Semi-Final/ Kerry 4-11 Limerick 0-9: A much-changed Kerry side proved too strong for gutsy Limerick in this ESB Munster Minor Football Championship semi-final in Tralee last evening.
Kerry had three players who were a cut above anything else on view - powerful midfielder Tommy Walsh, wing forward David Moran and team captain Paddy Curran and they made all the difference as the home side cut loose before the interval. In a five-minute spell before half-time Kerry hit 2-2 without reply and effectively ended the game as a contest.
Even though Limerick outscored Kerry 0-5 to 0-2 in the opening 20 minutes of the second half, the goal they needed never materialized.
Kerry substitute Patrick Curtin from Moyvane staked a claim for a Munster final place with a quicksilver 2-1 in the final minutes as Kerry advanced with ease. But the final scoreline does scant justice to Limerick's contribution.
