LEINSTER MFC Semi-final/ Kildare 1-12 Offaly 0-10: Kildare are through to the Leinster MF final where they will face either Dublin or Laois in two weeks' time.

At Portlaoise last night Kildare were the dominant team in the opening half, yet only led by 0-7 to 0-3 at the break.

Forwards Michael Conway and Tommy Archbold caused major problems for the Offaly defence. A point from Padraic O'Neill opened Kildare's account but Offaly kept in touch with points from Derek Molloy, Gregory Quinn and Tommy Coughlan.

Midway through the half Kildare took complete control with points from Alan Smith, Brian Bell and O'Neill.

With wind assistance on the changeover Offaly looked as if they would make a game of it but two minutes into the new half they conceded a penalty which Archbold despatched to the net.

Points from Conway and John Keane stretched the Kildare lead However, a great Offaly rally narrowed the gap to a single goal with five minutes remaining.

However, in those closing minutes points from Ciarán Kelly and Conway proved to be the insurance.

Kildare, with the Leinster under-21 title already won, will fancy their chances of an under age double.
