Ten men's and six women's teams will contest the Inter-County Championship, sponsored by Paintworld Ltd, at the McDonagh's Pitch and Putt Club, Kildare, next Sunday. In the women's championship, holders Kildare will be seeking to retain the title they won for the second time in Waterford last year. Ireland's number one and two ranked players - Bernadette Coffey and Marian Byrne - will lead the Lilywhites team that also includes Margaret Byrne, Christine Byrne and Rose Kelly.

Dublin, meanwhile, will defend the men's Anchor Cup. Derek Courtney has been a member of each of the last four Dublin sides to win the InterCounty championships and two members of last year's winning side Brendan O'Shea and David Hayden are also in the team.
