Sligo Rovers - 0 Killester - 0: Junior side Killester United produced an heroic display at the Showgrounds on Saturday to hold Sligo Rovers scoreless and keep their FAI Cup dream alive.
In could have been even better for the visitors as striker Michael Keogh came closest to breaking the deadlock.
A superb 18th-minute move by the AUL Premier Division table-toppers carved the Sligo Rovers defence wide open and it took a superb save by Sligo goalkeeper John O'Hara to keep out Keogh's effort.
Sligo attacked the Killester goal from the kick-off but Chris Turner and Adam Hughes failed to hit the target while Kenny Curley grazed the bar at the other end in the sixth minute.
Killester piled on the pressure with some neat attacking play toward the end of the half, David Sheridan going close following a free-kick.
Sligo substitute Paul McTiernan blazed the ball over Lee Murphy's bar at the start of the second half, and great defensive play by the visitors denied Hughes again on 65 minutes.
Sligo were unable to string any worthwhile moves together as the half progressed, and Jason Donnerry headed into the side -netting as the Dublin side pressed forward.
Sligo's Chris Turner shot over the bar when well-placed nine minutes from the end but Sligo can consider themselves fortunate to have earned a replay, which will take place at Tolka Park on Thursday night.
