Limerick IT 7-21 Queen's University 0-5: The difference in class was glaringly obvious as Limerick IT handed out a hammering to Queen's University in this Fitzgibbon Cup quarter-final at Athlone yesterday.
With the wind at their backs, Queen's actually scored the opening two points but a superb fourth-minute goal by Tipperary's Eoin Kelly set LIT on their way.
Kelly and exciting Galway prospect Niall Healy scored two first-half goals each as LIT built up an unassailable half-time lead of 4-6 to 0-2.
The Limerick side continued to pile on the scores in the second half, with goals from substitutes Michael Farrell and Peter Russell augmenting Kelly's third.
