Sports Digest: CyclingDavid McCann showed up well for a long way and gained vital TV coverage for his new team when he went on a 160-kilometre breakaway on Tuesday's 187.2-kilometre stage of the Tour of California won by Juan José Haedo, reports Shane Stokes.
The Irish road race champion attacked with Omer Kem and they were quickly joined by Christophe Laurent. The trio worked together and eked out a maximum lead of over five minutes, McCann scoring well in bonus sprints.
