NUI Maynooth 0-14 Dundalk IT 1-7Francis McGee fired NUI Maynooth into the last eight of the Sigerson Cup with a nine-point haul in Dundalk yesterday.
The corner forward converted seven frees, including five in quick succession, after Michael Lennon had given Dundalk IT the lead shortly after half-time.
The home team won a Ryan Cup meeting between the sides last autumn, but Maynooth produced when it mattered most yesterday.
Dundalk made the better start and raced into a 0-4 to 0-1 lead, but the visitors recovered to lead 0-7 to 0-4 at the interval.
Lennon's goal gave Dundalk a brief advantage at 1-5 to 0-7, but McGee's accuracy from dead balls set Maynooth on their way.
