Cavan SFC Final/Mullahoran - 2-10 Cavan Gaels 0-10: After three consecutive defeats by Cavan Gaels in the final, Mullahoran finally ended that losing sequence at Kingspan Breffni Park yesterday despite playing with 14 men for the second half.
A goal in each half saw off the challenge of the Cavan town team. Danny Brady, another of the famous Gunner Brady clan, had an outstanding game and after only five minutes, responded to Cavan Gaels' opening point from Cormac Nelligan when he shot to the net.
By half time Mullahoran's lead was reduced to one point, 1-6 to 1-7, and they had also lost full forward Eddie Reilly who was sent off for a straight red card offence.
Mullahoran still dominated the opening 10 minutes of the second-half. Cavan Gaels were 14 minutes without a score until county star Anthony Ford came up from defence to shoot a point.
Mullahoran made sure the title was going to change hands when Philip Brady fired home their second goal in the 49th minute.
