Leinster Colleges SFC A quarter-finals/ Moyne CS 1-12; Patrician, Newbridge 0-7: Deadly accurate full forward Francis McGee fired Moyne Community School into the semi-final by scoring 10 points (six from play) in his side's comfortable win over Patrician, Newbridge, at the Dromard Grounds.
While the losers had no answer to the class of McGee, their cause was certainly not helped by some very poor finishing and the Kildare side were guilty of kicking 16 wides.
Patrician were still very much in contention when trailing by 0-6 to 0-2 at the break, after playing against the wind, but their hopes were eventually dashed when Moyne midfielder Raymond Galligan fisted a goal in the 39th minute to leave his side in a commanding 1-8 to 0-2 lead.
Moyne now advance to meet Knockbeg, Carlow, on Saturday, February 14th.
