Two American players didn't make it to the first tee for yesterday's second round. Tom Gillis, who had opened with a round of 90, cried off because of a wrist injury, while US tour player Fred Funk, who shot a first round 83, cited a shoulder injury as his excuse for failing to grace the Carnoustie links for the second round.
