Cork City collected their first point of the season, thanks primarily to the heroics of goalkeeper Michael Devine, who produced a string of quality saves to deny a goal-hungry Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds last night.
But Cork will have travelled home disappointed they did not get their first win of the campaign.
Bray, reduced to 10 men after midfielder Philip Keogh was shown the red card on 65 minutes, fought back for a late equaliser, when Barry O'Connor scored his second goal of the night.
O'Connor was on target after three minutes when he sidefooted home from eight yards after neat approach work between Colm Tresson and Matt Britton. Cork were level just nine minutes later when Tresson slipped on the damp surface and allowed Stephen O'Flynn to take possession.
The former Wimbledon man ran 10 yards before shooting past the advancing Alan Young.
Cork increased their lead on 28 minutes when an Ollie Cahill cross from the left deceived Keogh and Conor O'Grady calmly took control and shot left-footed into the corner of the net from 16 yards.
Keogh was then shown his marching orders for a late tackle on keeper Devine.
But even reduced to 10 men, Bray continued to push forward and had their reward on 73 minutes. Substitute Eddie Gormley floated in a corner from the right and O'Connor at the far post headed home a deserved equaliser.
