Offaly 1-13 London 1-8: Offaly overcame adversity in defeating London in Tullamore. They were first forced to make a late change when Neville Coughlan withdrew with a hamstring injury and was replaced by John Scanlon.
Then, with only five minutes played, they were reduced to 14 players by the dismissal of Scott Brady and, three minutes later, they lost full back Cathal Daly through injury.
And, to crown it all, late in the game Shane Sullivan limped off injured and could not be replaced as five subs had already been used.
London showed early promise in an evenly contested first half, at the end of which Offaly led 0-7 to 0-6.
However, within 11 minutes of the resumption, London took the lead with Colm Foody finishing a line ball by Paul Hehir to the net.
But the lead was short-lived and Offaly took complete control when Niall McNamee scored an excellent goal - volleying a rebound off the woodwork to the net.
