Originally part of the Britain sailing set-up before declaring for Ireland, who she represented for the first time in 2013. At 33, she is considerably more experienced than her partner, Dubliner Saskia Tidey, and her best result to date was a bronze medal at the 2008 Laser Radial World Championships. From Headley Down in the UK, she says that her biggest strength is never giving up. It is her first time at an Olympics and she takes charge of the helm with Tidey the crew. Her Irish heritage recently took her to Schull, where her mother’s people came from.
