They lost their first league game of the season, 1-0 away to Pembroke Wanderers, but Hermes haven’t tasted defeat since and tomorrow they will look to extend their unbeaten run to 12 games when they take on Old Alexandra at Milltown.

Second-placed Railway Union, three points behind, will expect to maintain their challenge when they host North Kildare, although the bottom club’s morale should be in good shape after picking up their first point of the season against reigning champions UCD last weekend.

Tougher time

The students, still without their seven internationals, will expect a tougher time against Trinity compared to their 4-0 win over their old friends in their opening game of the season, while Pembroke, a place above them in third, will be wary of a Corinthian side they only managed to beat by a single goal in November.

After losing three of their last five games, Loreto need to get their campaign back on track if they are to qualify for their Irish Hockey League, their opponents tomorrow Glenanne who play again on Sunday against Alexandra.
