It’s been quite the journey for the young Skibbereen siblings, qualifying for Rio with some considerable success along the way, and clearly now poised to challenge for a place in the Olympic final. The most recent success came at the European Championships in Germany back in May, where they had almost two seconds to spare over the home pair, with pre-race favourites Norway finishing third. Paul is currently part of the UCD Ad Astra programme, and rowing has been of part of his life from a young age. Like brother Gary, their father Teddy, also a keen rower, introduced them to Skibbereen Rowing Club.
