Conor McGregor’s opponent for his UFC196 bout on Saturday March 5th has withdrawn with a foot injury.
Rafael dos Anjos was due to put his UFC lightweight title on the line against McGregor in the main event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday week but reports are now emerging that he has broken his foot in training.
With another fighter expected to take Dos Anjos’s place for the Vegas event it will be the fourth time in eight fights that McGregor has had to adjust to a change in opponent.
Jose Aldo pulled out of McGregor’s last world title fight before being replaced by Chad Mendes who McGregor beat to win the interim belt.
In the re-scheduled fight the Dubliner knocked Aldo out within 13 seconds to become world champion.
Saturday week’s fight was due to be McGregor’s attempt to add the lightweight world title to his featherwight belt.
