Three Leinster First Division sides dropped points for the first time in the new season on Saturday, Railway Union and Loreto drawing at Park Avenue and Pembroke Wanderers conceding two late goals to lose out to Hermes. Defending champions UCD, then, are the only side left with a perfect record, making it three wins out of three against Glenanne.

Hermes seemed set for their third consecutive defeat when they went a goal down to Pembroke with 15 minutes to go, Clare Mulcahy getting the score, but Megan Tennant and Aine Connery replied with their team’s first goals of the campaign.

Loreto went 2-0 up against Railway through Nikki Keegan and Aideen McGuinness, but Sinead Dooley and Orla Fox completed the hosts’ comeback.

Emily Beatty, Brenda Flannery, Lauren McGrane and Deirdre Duke combined to give UCD a comfortable win over Glenanne, Old Alexandra going one goal better against Trinity, Sarah Canning scoring twice. Sarah Quill got a double too in Corinthian’s first win of the season, 3-1 away to North Kildare.
