Connacht Under-21 FC Semi-final/ Mayo 1-19 Roscommon 2-8: Aidan Kilcoyne gave a virtuoso display as Mayo ran out eight-point winners in Saturday's Connacht under-21 semi-final at Kiltoom. The wing forward finished with a tally of 12 points, 10 from frees, as he punished Roscommon's indiscretion.
Roscommon got off to a good start and David Hoey scored their first goal after 13 minutes following good work by Enda Kenny and Richard Dooner. Kenny was involved again 12 minutes later, setting up substitute Ronan Martin for goal number two.
Kilcoyne landed five points in the first half for Mayo, however, and late scores from Colm O'Boyle, Marcus Hannick and Mark Ronaldson levelled matters by half-time, 2-3 to 0-9.
Within 30 seconds of the restart, Ronaldson had fired home their only goal, reacting quickest after Michael Conroy's effort came off the upright. Mayo held their lead and Kilcoyne added seven second-half points to his tally.
