Limerick: Willie Mullins will consider options at Fairyhouse and Punchestown for Vroum Vroum Mag after the mare oozed class in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Dawn Run Mares Novice Chase at Limerick.
The 4-11 favourite took her unblemished record over fences to four as she claimed this Grade Two prize in the hands of Ruby Walsh.
“She’s in the Ryanair Gold Cup at Fairyhouse and we will look at that. We could look at Aintree as well, but I would probably look to keep her at home for this year and go to Fairyhouse or Punchestown,” Mullins said.
Navan: Paul Townend was the star of the show at Navan as Irish Stallion Farms EBF Novice Handicap Chase Final winner Heathfield starred in a four-timer for the rider.
Fresh from a hat-trick at Cheltenham, Townend kept up the momentum in Co Meath, excelling aboard the Tony Martin-trained 2-1 shot in the feature event.
Townend had earlier steered Vedettariat (11-2) to victory in the John Lynch Carpets Kells EBF Novice Hurdle. He gained his first success aboard Grand Partner (7-1) in the John Lynch Carpets Navan Handicap Hurdle and completed his afternoon’s work on 7-1 shot Ibetellingyoualie in the www.navanracecourse.ie Handicap Chase.
