Cavan 0-11 Wexford 0-11:The stakes were high at Kingspan Breffni Park yesterday with both sides battling for promotion next season. And the second half developed into a dog fight with referee Gregory Walsh issuing three red cards, two to Wexford, as well as 10 yellow cards.

Wexford led by 0-6 to 0-4 at half-time, Matty Forde scoring four points and Ray Cullivan responding for Cavan. But Wexford were down to 14 players by half-time when George Sunderland got a second yellow card.

Points from Niall Murphy and Adrian Flynn stretched Wexford's lead to four points by the 42nd minute. Cavan's Lorcan Mulvey received a straight red card in the 44th minute, but points from Gerald Pearson and Dermot McCabe reduced the deficit to two points.

Although Wexford restored their four-point lead with 15 minutes of normal time remaining, Kieran Lyng's point in the 58th minute proved to be Wexford's final score and Cavan dominated thereafter with points from Gerald Pearson, Mark McKeever and Jason Reilly. Wexford were reduced to 13 players in the 69th minute when David Murphy received a second yellow card.

Wexford were hanging on, but with five minutes of additional time being played it fell to Jason Reilly to score the levelling point.
