Tom George looks to have found an ideal opportunity for Riot Leader to bring up his hat-trick in the Amberley Novice Handicap Chase at Fontwell today.

Riot Leader is clearly no worldbeater but he has found two good opportunities to get his head in front last month and this contest looks an even less-competitive event.

Indeed, although Riot Leader's most recent success at Huntingdon from Baroncelli and Toni's Tip marked him out as a progressive animal, it is more the absence of any credible rival that makes the selection hard to oppose.

Kevin O'Ryan has been plying his trade on both sides of the Irish Sea for the last few months and is as capable a 7lb claimer as could be wished for. His booking looks significant.

Satcotino ran a little better on his first outing for a new yard at Plumpton last week and might be the one to follow Riot Leader home.

Plaid Maid can confirm her recent progress by winning the Gosport Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle.

Mark Bradstock's mare has been lightly raced and did not look any great shakes until running well at Haydock last month.

Racing from a stone out of the handicap in a well-contested race, she was close up until the straight and fading to finish 20 lengths fourth of 10 to You're Agoodun.

Plaid Maid then went to Market Rasen for a three mile race where she was again "wrong" in the weights by 13lb and in the circumstances she put up a very good performance.

Revelling in the testing conditions she led from three out to two out and only went down by two lengths to Riverbank Rose at the line, the pair drawing 11 lengths clear.

Plaid Maid has a much more realistic chance today and if she can force the pace her stamina, coupled with a light weight, should see her go very close.

Ever Blessed unquestionably has plenty of ability but is possibly one to take on at cramped odds in the Brook Maiden Chase at Leicester and the wisest option may be an each-way investment on Reflex Courier.

John Upson's son of Over The River has looked like a staying chaser and provided that the jumping mistakes which have blighted his potential thus far have been ironed out, he could yet graduate to the top flight.

The form of his penultimate outing when second to Ivy Boy at Plumpton would be enough to see him in with a shout.

Miss Hit, from the in-form yard of Gay Kelleway, has been given a break since her last win at the start of December.

She goes well off a fast pace which she should get in the Arena On Line Services Handicap.
