Dan Sheehan, James Lowe and Will Connors will be available for Leinster’s United Rugby Championship (URC) match against the Stormers at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday (5.0).
Sheehan has made a remarkable recovery from his ACL injury that he sustained while playing for Ireland against South Africa in the first Test at Loftus Versfeld during the summer.
The 26-year-old hooker has been released from the Ireland squad to get match minutes under his belt presumably before rejoining Simon Easterby’s cohort in Portugal, where they are based until the middle of next week in the build-up to the opening Six Nations Championship match against England on Saturday week.
Are Leinster and Toulouse destined for another European final?
Lowe has recovered from a calf issue that kept him sidelined since Ireland’s victory over Australia in November, one of three games he played in that series. His last game for Leinster was against the Lions in October.
Easterby will ascertain how well they come through the Stormers match and recover before taking a decision on their availability for the England match. They will need to travel to Portugal if they are to be involved.
Will Connors is also available to Leinster for the weekend. Liam Turner is due to step up his rehabilitation further this week and will be assessed before a final decision is made on availability. Number eight James Culhane is in a similar position to Turner.
There are no further updates on Rob Russell, Michael Milne and Jordan Larmour.
