New Zealand head coach Graham Henry has made 10 changes for the first Test against France in Lyon.
Outhalf Dan Carter, who scored 26 points in the All Blacks' 41-20 victory over England on Sunday, is retained in the side for Saturday along with captain Richie McCaw, winger Joe Rokocoko and props Carl Hayman and Tony Woodcock.
But Henry said: "We felt it was important to have fresh legs for this match against the strongest team in the northern hemisphere.
"We are playing in Lyon where they have had a lot of success and we are playing on Armistice Day, which usually brings out the best in the French side. It is a significant challenge for our team."
Piri Weepu has replaced Byron Keller at scrum-half, while Conrad Smith and Luke McAlister form the centre partnership.
Sitiveni Sivivatu will start on the opposite wing to his cousin Rokocoko, with Leon McDonald in at full-back.
In the pack, blindside flanker Jerry Collins and number eight Rodney So'oialo return to the back row. Ali Williams and James Ryan are the starting locks, with Anton Oliver in for Keven Mealamu at hooker.
Henry will confirm his bench later this week.
