Ulster and Ireland scrumhalf Isaac Boss has been ruled out of this weekend's Six Nations Triple Crown decider away to Scotland following today's scan on his injured shoulder.

Boss had the scan in Belfast and the results confirmed an injury to his AC joint. He will undergo a rehabilitation programme and then be assessed again by the medical staff next week.

The Tokoroa native picked up the injury during the province's Magners League defeat against Llanelli at Stradey Park at the weekend. He only lasted 18 minutes before coming off.

Eddie O'Sullivan held squad training at St Gerard's School in Bray today where Eoin Reddan (Wasps) was called-up as cover for Boss.

In all ten players were been added to the Irish camp this week. Geordan Murphy comes back into contention but Leinster teenager Luke Fitzgerald has yet to return from a neck/shoulder injury but should be available to play Connacht on March 24th.

Seven of those called up are part of the newly formed high performance select group. They are; Tommy Bowe, Barry Murphy, Rob Kearney, Bryan Young, Stephen Ferris, Jamie Heaslip and Trevor Hogan.

The others are Murphy, Reddan - who both play in England - and Frankie Sheahan who will slot into the 22 if Jerry Flannery fails to recover from a minor knock sustained last week.

Gordon D'Arcy believes there was an element of bad luck in Scotland's defeat to Italy last time out.  "It's difficult to hand any team a 21-point lead and come back," said the Irish centre. "I think Scotland got some freakishly bad luck but they still managed to play their way back into the game."

Still, Italy held on to record their first away win since joining the championship.

There were no other injury worries to report following today's training session in Bray and O'Sullivan is due to name his starting XV for the Murrayfield clash tomorrow.
