Llanelli Scarlets will give wing Nathan Brew his first start against Ulster after Dafydd James was forced to pull out through injury.

James strained an ankle in training today and will not be available for tomorrow's Magner's League clash at Stradey Park.

Brew's place on the bench has been taken by Mark Jones.

Ulster coach Mark McCall will persist with Tommy Bowe at outside centre and Matt McCullough at blindside flanker.

McCall rates Paddy Wallace, Bryan Young and Stephen Ferris enough to throw them back into the mix after a strictly watching brief at the World Cup.

Ferris is back at number eight and Roger Wilson drops to the bench for Isaac Boss to be handed the captaincy for the first time.

Ulster forwards should put up a better resistance than Leinster, with Justin Harrison and Carlo Del Fava making up a solid engine room and Neil McMillan holding off underage sensation David Pollack at openside flank.

Llanelli, though, look in good shape.
