Sean Scanlon has been drafted into the Ireland under-20 team to face France after an ankle injury sustained in the 6-0 win over Italy ruled fullback Niall Morris out of contention.
The UCC player is the only change to the side ahead of their second Six Nations game in Stadium Jacques Fouroux in Auch. His inclusion means Greystones back Conor Cleary is named among the replacements.
Scanlon will join Rob Kearney's brother, David, and Ulster's Chris Cochrane in the back three, while the impressive Eoin O'Malley continues at centre alongside Eamonn Sheridan.
Speaking ahead of the game coach Eric Elwood said the conditions in Dubarry Park last week did not allow for an expansive game but the effort of the players could not be faulted.
"Last weeks match may not have been the prettiest game, admitted the former Ireland outhalf, "but the guys stuck it out and showed great character to get past the Italians in the end.
"We felt that the selection should reflect that level of performance and have gone with an unchanged side, with the exception of Niall's (Morris) injury.
"Hopefully we will have a drier track to go on this week to allow us move the ball a bit more and not get caught up in playing from ruck to ruck.
On the opposition, Elwood added: "France offer a similar challenge this week in the physical stakes as Italy did, but will no doubt have that bit more pace in attack, so again it is a case of meeting them head on and getting a good start to the game.
"I thought our pack played particularly well last week, so another performance of that calibre is required if we are to compete with the French side."
