Munster captain Peter O'Mahony underwent a scan today, the result of which will be reviewed by a specialist tomorrow to determine whether he will require surgery on his damaged left shoulder.

The flanker left the pitch injured after just 19 minutes of Saturday's 47-23 Heineken Cup quarter-final win over Toulouse at Htomonad Park.

Team-mate, centre and try scorer against the French side Casey Laulala sustained a broken bone in his hand and he will also have the damage assessed by a specialist tomorrow.

Munster backs coach Simon Mannix was today confirmed as the new director of rugby with French Pro D2 side Pau, who are chasing promotion to the Top 14.
