Wales U20 15 Ireland U20 17: Two tries from fullback Felix Jones helped Ireland launch a spectacular comeback win against Wales at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea.
Jones's tries came in each half as Ireland secured a notable victory ahead of the senior team's opening Six Nations game in Cardiff on Sunday.
Wales looked good for their 15-0 lead after just 19 minutes but Ireland gained in belief, helped by the fact the home side had what looked a perfectly good third try ruled out.
The home side, who showed their intention to move the ball whenever possible, opened the scoring with a Rhys Priestland penalty from an Irish ruck offence.
Wales showed a positive approach in spurning a second penalty goal attempt in favour of kicking for the corner. It paid dividends as Scarlets hooker Ken Owens burrowed over from short range.
Five minutes later a free-kick from a scrum on the Ireland 22 produced a try for full-back Martin Thomas, who had to work hard to get to the line.
But after 27 minutes Wales had what looked a perfectly good try ruled out. Wing Tom James went over but referee Bruce Robertson, after consulting a touch judge, ruled it out for a foot in touch.
That decision gave Ireland a lifeline and they made the most of it as they finished the first half the stronger with a try for fullback Jones.
Despite being behind 15-7 at the interval Ireland's belief increased at the start of the second half as Wales lost their shape and purpose.
And it resulted in Jones going in for his second try on 56 minutes, converted by Ian Keatley, to cut the Welsh lead to a point.
Replacement outhalf Rhys Jones missed a long-range penalty attempt before Ireland took the lead on 70 minutes with a 35-metre drop goal from Keatley.
After that it was almost all Ireland as they spent the last five minutes camped on the Welsh line, but were unable to add to their two point lead.
