McGeechan steps down from Wasps role

Rugby : British and Irish Lions coach Ian McGeechan stepped down as director of rugby at Premiership side Wasps today.

Rugby: British and Irish Lions coach Ian McGeechan stepped down as director of rugby at Premiership side Wasps today.

The 62-year-old Scot enjoyed four successful years with the London club, winning the 2007 Heineken Cup and the Premiership last season.

"He (McGeechan) has been someone who has ensured great success for Wasps and for that I am extremely grateful," owner Steve Hayes said.
