Munster will be without Alan Quinlan for the next eight weeks after the backrow injured his thumb in the Celtic League win over Newport-Gwent Dragons at Musgrave Park.

The Ireland international damage ligaments in his thumbs and is duo to undergo surgery this morning.

Quinlan has been in top form since returning from the World Cup in France where he was an unused squad member.
