Munster are set to appeal Alan Quinlan's six-week supension handed to him for a stamping incident during the province's Heineken Cup win against Cardiff at Thomond Park last Saturday.

Quinlan was cited by the match citing commissioner before an independent disciplinary committee handed him the six week ban.

Should Munster lose an appeal Quinlan would be ruled out until the end of January.
