Ulster have announced the signing of 23-year-old Exeter Chiefs lock Dan Tuohy on a two-year contract.

The Gloucester-born secondrow, who has played for the Ireland under-21s, will join Matt Williams’s side in time for the 2009-10 pre-season.

"Dan is an impressive young Irish qualified player,” said Williams today. “He has come through a strong academy system in the Guinness Premiership, and been constantly a first-rate player.

“He has been on Ulster's radar for a while now, and I am delighted we have finally signed him up.”

The province has also extended the contracts of Scotland wing Simon Danielli and Ireland prop Bryan Young until 2010 and 2011 respectively.
