An excellent front nine saw Adam Scott move into a share of the lead after the second round of the Tour Championship in Atlanta.

The Australian birdied four of the first nine holes and parred the final eight to card a three-under-par 67 and move four-under overall at the US$6.5million event.

Joint first-round leader Joe Durant remains at the top of the leaderboard at East Lake after carding a tidy 68 to lie three shots ahead of Trevor Immelman (66), Brett Quigley (68), Stuart Appleby (70) and Retief Goosen (71), the last of whom shared the lead with Durant after yesterday's first round.

Scott, who is ranked fourth in the world but has yet to win on tour this year, said: "One of the most important things around here is to get it in the fairway and I'm very happy with the way I'm driving it.
