UCD 0-9 Garda 0-3:Sigerson Cup/First round: A five-star display from full forward Joe Sheridan gave UCD a comfortable win over Garda College at Templemore yesterday.
UCD led at the interval by 0-3 to 0-2 despite having played into a strong breeze. They could have had three goals in the first half had it not been for the brilliance of Galway goalkeeper Alan Keane who saved twice in the second minute from Niall McNamee to keep Garda in contention.
However, Keane could do nothing about the UCD onslaught in the second half when five points from Sheridan sealed victory.
