Rovers' Dunn deal:David Dunn has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Blackburn after his former club recaptured the midfielder from Birmingham last night.

Birmingham confirmed Dunn had left the club to rejoin Rovers for "an undisclosed fee", thought to be a package worth around £2.2million dependant on appearances.

Rovers were given permission to talk to the player yesterday morning after agreeing a fee despite the 27-year-old having passed a medical at Lancashire rivals Bolton.

Dunn, who has one England cap, has been seeking a move since the start of the January transfer window, having failed to really impress at St Andrews due to persistent injuries.

Lay off Lafferty

Celtic manager Gordon Strachan could turn his attentions elsewhere after failing with a bid for Burnley's teenage striker Kyle Lafferty.

Celtic were keen to bring the Northern Ireland international to Parkhead, however their offer - reported to be £500,000 - fell well short of Burnley's asking valuation of the 19-year-old.

With Burnley rating Lafferty in the £6million bracket, Strachan may turn his attentions towards Sheffield United veteran Geoff Horsfield.

Milan in for Ronaldo

AC Milan have confirmed they are interested in signing Brazilian striker Ronaldo (30) from Real Madrid, the club's vice-president said yesterday.

"The idea exists, I can't deny it. Now we are waiting to see what Real Madrid say," Adriano Galliani was quoted as saying on La Gazzetta dello Sport's website.

Italian newspapers yesterday suggested Ronaldo's agent Fabiano Farah and Milan had already reached agreement on a salary of €6 million per season, but that Real's demand for a transfer payment represented a sticking point in the deal.

West Ham reinforce

West Ham United's efforts to strengthen their defence should see them recruit the Tottenham central defender Calum Davenport (24) today for a fee in the region of £3 million.

Davenport was last night undergoing a medical at Upton Park and was not in the Spurs squad for their FA Cup replay at home to Cardiff.

West Ham are also expected to reignite their interest in the Blackburn Rovers defender Lucas Neill while continuing to work towards a deal for Arsenal's Lauren.

Neill was expected to sign for Liverpool but West Ham are hopeful of signing the Australian after offering better terms than the Anfield club.

West Ham are battling with Manchester City to secure Sevilla striker Kepa Blanco (22) on loan until the end of the season, according to the player's agent.
