Cork City have confirmed Ger Nash has stepped down as manager “with immediate effect”.

In a short statement released on Tuesday evening, the club confirmed: “Cork City FC has been informed by men’s first team manager Ger Nash of his decision to step down for the role, with immediate effect.

“The club would like to thank Ger for his efforts throughout the 2025 season.”

The statement added: “Ger Nash has indicated to the club that the decision was made for personal reasons.

“The search for a new manager will begin immediately.”

The news comes just weeks out from the club’s first fixture of the new season, at home to Treaty United on Friday, February 13th.

Cork will battle it out in the First Division in 2026 after being relegated from the Premier Division this season, their third relegation from the top flight in six seasons, followed by a 2-0 defeat to Shamrock Rovers in last month’s FAI Cup final.
