Republic of Ireland international midfielder Keith Andrews has joined Brighton on a season-long loan from their Championship rivals, Bolton Wanderers.
The 32-year-old was unlikely to feature in the plans of Bolton boss Dougie Freedman next season and the Lancashire club allowed Andrews move on-loan with Brighton expected percentage of his wages.
"We are pleased to welcome Keith to the club," Brighton manager Oscar Garcia said this morning. "He is a player with experience at the top level of the English game and international football, including World Cups and European Championships.
“Keith is a player who I know will enjoy the way we like to play. He is a dynamic and energetic player and brings different qualities which will complement our existing midfielders, and he will bring added competition to our midfield.”
Andrews was drafted straight into the Seagulls’ first team squad and was named on the bench by Garcia for this afternoon’s Championship clash against Derby County.
