Valencia's Fabio Aurelio is expected to sign for Liverpool over the weekend, according to reports in Spain.

The defender will arrive on a Bosman when his contract at the Mestalla expires on Friday and he will then put pen to paper on a four-year deal.

During the Brazilian's six-year spell at Valencia, the team won the Spanish league title in 2002 and 2004 and the UEFA Cup in '04.

The 26-year-old left-back will become manager Rafael Benitez' third signing of the summer following the captures of Craig Bellamy and Gabriel Palleta.
