Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov is growing tired of the continued speculation over his future with the London club and wants to be left alone by the media.

Berbatov has been linked with a move in the January transfer window, with his agent saying he would be prepared to leave if a big enough club made an offer.

"It's getting absurd," Berbatov told Bulgarian Nova TV. "I'm fed up of seeing my name in the papers all the time. I think the papers went too far."

"It's obvious that the speculation will continue to the end but I wish the press would leave me alone. I just want to play my game. The worst thing is that I see 'my' quotes which I've never said and it's something that makes me feel bad."

Both Chelsea and Manchester United have been linked with a £26 million offer for the prolific Bulgarian marksman.

"Such hysteria seems to me stupid, I'm not worth so much money," he said.

Berbatov, who joined the north London club from Bayer Leverkusen in a £10.9 million deal in 2006, said he was enjoying playing under Spanish coach Juande Ramos.

"I'm happy at the moment, we'll see what will happen. I know I can win trophies with Spurs. We are working to correct our mistakes and I think Juande Ramos is the man who can change things.

"He's very good as a man and as an expert, he can see details which are hidden from other people's view."
