A Celtic fan has died after being knocked down by a taxi ahead of his team's Champions League clash in Milan.
The supporter was crossing the northern Italian city's Via Santa Socia when he was hit by the car at 11.30pm last night.
He was taken to the Niguarda Hospital, where he later died.
Thousands of supporters of the Scottish club have descended on the city to watch their team play AC Milan at the San Siro in the second leg of their Champions League tie tonight.
Celtic fans are reported to have been snapping up tickets for the home end of the San Siro.
Italian officials have said any away fan who turned up with a ticket for sections outside their designated area would not be allowed in.
Despite warnings from Celtic and Strathclyde Police, it has been suggested at least 6,000 ticketless fans travelled to Milan.
The Glasgow club held the Italian giants to a 0-0 draw at Celtic Park two weeks ago and now face a monumental task to reach the last eight of the competition.
