Blackburn 0 Chelsea 2: Premiership champions Chelsea bounced back to winning ways with a routine 2-0 victory at Blackburn today.

Jose Mourinho's Blues went into the game with the vultures circling after that 2-1 midweek defeat at Middlesbrough.

But second-half goals from Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba were enough to see off a limited Rovers side.

The first 45 minutes were difficult for Chelsea as Rovers showed their combative side to give the champions a stern physical test.

And even with Michael Ballack making his Premiership bow, the visitors struggled to create clear-cut openings.

But they broke the deadlock five minutes into the second half when John Terry was fouled and Lampard confidently rammed home the spot-kick.

And sub Drogba showed great strength to muscle his way through the Blackburn defence in the dying seconds to blast home the second.
