Chelsea and the Los Angeles Galaxy are working towards a friendly in London next year which would see David Beckham play for his new team at Stamford Bridge.
Beckham will make his Galaxy debut against the Blues at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California, on Saturday and the game is already a 27,000 sell-out with huge interest across the States and a large, live television audience expected.
Galaxy's owners Anschutz Entertainment Group are keen to maximise revenue during Beckham's five-year contract with the Major League Soccer side with AEG chief executive Tim Leiweke saying touring overseas, including to England, was the most lucrative option open to them.
AEG also has a strategic partnership with Chelsea which has provided valuable promotion for the Premier League side for their US tours, and the two parties are already discussing bringing Beckham and the Galaxy to Stamford Bridge
